Almanor Lake
Lake Almanor rests in the beautiful Lassen National Forest at an elevation of 4,550 feet. This huge man made lake is 13 miles long and 6 miles wide with a surface area of 28,000 acres. There is ample improved camping facilities located around the lake. For those who like the comfort of home there are several private resorts located near the lake. Almanor is a popular Northern California summer get-away offering clear blue water, excellent water-skiing, full service marinas and boat rentals. Antelope Lake
Antelope Lake rests at an elevation of 5,000 feet in the Plumas National Forest. Antelope has 16 miles of pine timbered shoreline and a surface area of 950 acres. There are several improved campgrounds situated around the lake that provide group, tent, and RV camping with disposal facilities. Antelope Lake, as well as the surrounding streams are a trout fisherman's paradise. The lake is home to a good population of large rainbow and brown trout, catfish, and the famous Eagle Lake Trout. Water-skiing and swimming are allowed. There is a store located at the lake with adequate last minute supplies, bait and tackle, and food. For more information contact the Mt. Benbow Lake
Benbow is an excellent choice for a weekend getaway. At an elevation of 365 feet this 230 acre lake is created by the damming of the Eel River. Only non powered boats are allowed, but Benbow is excellent for sailing or rowing. Paddle boats and canoes are available for rent at the marina. Swimming is allowed and there is a well maintained beach area. The State of California operates a park and campground located at the lake and for those who require comfort Benbow Inn would be an excellent choice. Black Butte Lake
Black Butte Lake rests in the rolling hills 8 miles west of Orland, California at an elevation of 470 feet. Black Butte has 40 miles of shoreline and contains 4,460 acre feet of water. There are several well maintained camping facilities situated around the lake operated by the US Army Corps. There is a full service marina with boat rentals available. Water-skiing, jet-skiing, and swimming is allowed. Black Butte is famous for the excellent spring crappie fishing and abundance of bass, catfish, and bluegill. Blue Lake (Lake County)
Blue Lakes are located approximately 78 miles north of Santa Rosa at an elevation of 1,400 feet. There are several campgrounds located near the lakes suitable for tents, trailers, or RV's, as well as full service hook-ups. All boating is permitted although limited to a 5 mph speed restriction. There are boat rentals available as well as concessions, full service stores, motels, cabins, resorts, restaurants, picnic areas, and swimming beaches. Bocca Reservoir
Bocca Reservoir rests at an elevation of 5,700 feet in the beautiful Tahoe National Forest just 28 miles west of Reno . Bocca has 15 miles of pine covered shoreline with a surface area of 980 acres. There are 2 campgrounds located at the lake with a total of 100 campsites suitable for tents or RV's without full hookups. Water-skiing, jet-skis, and swimming are allowed with improved launch facilities available. For the fisherman Bocca offers excellent rainbow trout action with good numbers of large fish available. Britton Lake
Lake Britton is located approximately 65 miles northeast of Redding at an elevation of 2,760 feet in the beautiful Trinity National Forest. Britton contains 1,600 surface acres of water and 18 miles of pine covered shoreline. There are several camping facilities located at the lake suitable for tents or RV's (35 foot limitation). All boating is permitted as well as water-skiing, swimming, and jet-skis. Boat rentals are available at the lake as well as bait, tackle, gas, and food. Fishing is usually excellent in both the lake and nearby streams. Britton holds a good number of trout, bass, and crappie. For more information call (530) 335-2777. Bullards Bar Reservoir
Bullards Bar Reservoir is located 35 miles east of Marysville in the beautiful Tahoe National Forest at an elevation of 2,005 feet. Bullards has 55 miles of rugged shoreline with 4,700 surface acres of water. There are several campgrounds located at the lake suitable for tents, trailers, group camping, or RV's. All boating and water-skiing is allowed. The lake holds a wide variety of fish, including, rainbow and brown trout, catfish, smallmouth and largemouth bass, crappie, bluegill, and kokanee salmon.
